Something that I feel proud of during this experience is that I’ve been tracking my monthly spending. I’m more conscious of how much money I’m spending monthly and where I’m spending my money. And I’m saving money before I can spend it! I’ve also learned the true cost of high-interest credit cards.I started learning more about my new retirement plan, too. I didn't know my plan is different now because I work for a non-profit organization. In my past job, I used to have a 401(k) plan and now I have 403(b) retirement plan.My retirement plan lets me save money automatically from my paycheck and the cash in my account is invested in philanthropic grantmaking and social investing. I’ve also learned that my contributions lower my taxable income now and my money grows safely until I take it out later in my life. Since I am older than 50, I can also add additional funds.I feel like I have awakened through this financial experience! I had never stopped to understand my retirement plan before; now I feel more confident about my future and everything. Thank you for being part of my journey!
