Every Day I’m Hustlin’

October 19, 2022 October is flying by and I can’t believe how quickly the weather has turned. While everyone else has been out leaf peepin’, I’ve been jamming my schedule with every opportunity to earn a little extra cash that I can. A few weeks ago, I wrote about re-opening my Rover sittings for new clients. I’ve been lucky that I’ve been booked nonstop since and I only take jobs that are flexible enough to work with my schedule. For example, a typical day for me might look like:
  • 5 am: wake up and get the day started! Take my own dogs out, eat, and get a move on
  • 5:30-7 am: various pet check ins/Rover clients
  • 7 am-4 pm: work from home for my full-time job. I might do another Rover drop in during lunch or walk my own dogs
  • 4/5 pm-8 pm: head to my grooming job
  • 8- 9pm: depending how busy I am, I might do another Rover check in, run some errands, or try to work out if I can squeeze it in
  • 9 pm-?: I’m usually pooped by the end of the day but I love to relax with some Netflix or reading a book to wind down before going to bed to get ready to do it all over again the next day.
I’m extremely lucky that my day job is flexible and I have such amazing clients that work with my hectic schedule. This isn’t something I plan on keeping up long term since it’s not really sustainable but it’s a great way to pad my wallet a little bit for the holidays. I’m also planning on using the extra cash to pay off one of my smaller student loans and my car. So far, I’ve been able to pay an extra $500 off in debt this month. It can be tiring day to day but being able to see the results keeps me motivated to push forward and keep going.
