Don’t Bring Your Credit Card To Home Goods

December 14, 2022 We are finally moved into our new home and fully out of our apartment. It was hard to say goodbye to the apartment we had many good memories in, but we are so excited to make new memories in our home. We already know lots of neighbors near us and are still working to get settled in.We have been making it a rule to not buy anything new unless we give away or trash an old item. We have been pretty good with it and Megan has taken many carloads to St Vinny’s or Goodwill or has sold items on the marketplace.Savings has been going well and we have opened a high yield savings account and are hoping to add another $7,000 before the competition is over.Megan needed to go to Home Goods and made the mistake of taking her credit card, she was able to stay within a reasonable budget though. We are proud! We have made a plan to save between thirty-five and fifty thousand dollars by December of 2023 now that we have been paying off a lot of debt. We are feeling good about this goal and know it can be done with a lot of discipline. Megan has elected to take the full $5,000 allowed from her paycheck for childcare flex spending in 2023 and this will help to take care of childcare expenses that will start in September of 2023. We are so happy we are actually planning so far ahead!Thank you for following along. Just a few short weeks until the competition ends and we are feeling great!
