Calculate Insurance Needs
This week we decided to put our dream on hold. Our goal at the end of Project Money has always been to finally buy a home. Unfortunately, the stars are not aligning for us, and we have decided to suspend our home search for now.We found a few homes in our son’s school district that we really loved, but with the skyrocketing prices of homes and high interest rates, we went into our home search with low expectations so we wouldn’t be disappointed. We toured a home we loved and were very ready to make an offer, but after taking a night to think about it, we decided to walk away from a home we pictured ourselves in. We don’t feel this is the right time to make large financial decisions when we are just getting on the right track with houses. We are so grateful to have an amazing realtor on Team Ricks and she has been so patient and understanding, also one of our biggest cheerleaders! One day we will have our dream home, but not quite yet. We are hoping the aggressive savings plan we have through Project Money, more discipline, and more middle-class family friendly trends in the housing market will help us to get our home sooner rather than later. For now, that dream is on hold, but our plans we have made through this program still stand and we intend to give it 110%.Thank you for following along!
